The Seoul Forum 2025 Secretariat values your privacy and strictly complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. Through this Privacy Policy, the Seoul Forum 2025 Secretariat informs you of the purpose and method of using the personal information you provide, as well as the measures taken to protect it.

The Seoul Forum 2025 Secretariat collects personal information through the following methods:

(1) Information Collected via the Website & Written Registration Forms
-Required Information: Name, affiliation, job title, telephone number, email address
-Optional Information: Subscription to Seoul Economic Daily services and informational updates

(2) Information Generated & Collected During Use of Service or Business Transactions
-Usage history, access logs, cookies, IP address information, payment records, and account suspension history

The Seoul Forum 2025 Secretariat uses the collected personal information for the following purposes:

(1) Delivery of Services
-Management of Seoul Forum event participants
-Event operation and administration
-Delivery of event-related announcements
-Distribution of additional promotional materials

(2) Subscription to Seoul Economic Daily Services and Information
-Seoul Economic Daily services and information will be sent only if the user has given prior consent to receive them, and users may opt out of receiving such services at any time.

In principle, the Seoul Forum 2025 Secretariat does not disclose users’ personal information to third parties. However, exceptions may apply in the following cases:
-When the user has provided prior consent
-When required by law, or upon a lawful request by investigative authorities in accordance with applicable legal procedures and regulations

The Seoul Forum 2025 Secretariat entrusts the handling of personal information to third parties as outlined below, for the purposes of event management and delivery of Seoul Economic Daily services and information. In accordance with relevant laws and regulations, necessary provisions are included in outsourcing contracts to ensure the secure management of personal data. The details of the entrusted entity and scope of work are as follows:

Purpose of Retention: Distribution of event-related materials for non-commercial purposes
Legal Framework: Article 15 of the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)

The Seoul Forum 2025 Secretariat will immediately dispose of the personal information of a participant if the participant withdraws consent to the collection and use of personal information or requests the Seoul Forum 2025 Secretariat to dispose of the personal information. However, even if the purpose of collection or the purpose for which the information was provided has been fulfilled, the personal information of a participant may be retained if its retention is necessary in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws and regulations, such as the Commercial Act.

In principle, the Seoul Forum 2025 Secretariat immediately disposes of personal information after the purpose of collecting and using the information has been fulfilled.
The procedure and method of disposal are as follows.
-Disposal Procedure
The information provided by participants during registration is transferred to a separate database (or, in the case of physical documents stored in a separate file cabinet) once the intended purpose has been achieved and retained for a specified period in accordance with internal policies and relevant laws and regulations (see Retention and Use Period). At the end of the retention period, the information will be securely disposed of. Personal information that is transferred to a separate database will not be used for any purpose other than as permitted by law.
-Disposal Method
Personal information that is stored in an electronic file format will be deleted using technical methods that will render the records irrecoverable.

Participants may, at any time, access, modify, or delete their registration information. To view or edit personal information, users may click on “Edit Registration” and complete the identity verification process, after which they may directly view, modify, or delete their information.

Alternatively, users may contact the Privacy Manager in writing, by telephone or via email, and appropriate action will be taken promptly. If a user requests correction of an error in his or her personal information, that information will not be used or disclosed until the correction has been completed.

Personal information that has been canceled or deleted at the request of the participant will be processed in accordance with the retention and use period set forth in the section “Retention and Use Period of Personal Information” and will not be viewed or used for any other purpose.
